The world is abuzz with the video of a Sudanese woman getting flogged for breaking Sharia law by wearing pants under her burqa. People are crying out against this clear act of violence and oppression against women, but how easy do we point fingers in a shattered glass house.
It is so convenient to critique someone else's barbarism when you can access hundreds of videos featuring violent acts against women. How easy do we forget the hundreds of videos of women getting beaten and punched in crowds that cheer or do not interced. Ahhh, great US of fucking A.
