Flying Squirrels and Jumping Monkeys at the London Olympics

There isn't anything remotely close to London Olympic gold medalist, Gabby Douglas, being a squirrel---be it flying, scurrying or smashed like roadkill.

Gabby is the quintessential American hero who has risen like a graceful Phoenix---dark skin, thick lips, broad nose, coily hair and all.

Gabby is not a mascot that you pat in sympathy with white patronizing sentiments like a Pickanini slave child dancing for watermelon seeds.

Her father is serving in the military with an overseas deployment, while her mother pooled all of her resources so that she and Gabby's siblings could be there to support. They may be cooking dinners on hotplates at the hotel, but they are there by hook or crook.

That is the black family template I know. We make do when the can't do is staring us down in the face.

So let me give this PSA to the world. The name, 'The Flying Squirrel' is not cute nor is it endearing.

And though I am sure Gabby laughs at this 'nickname', and wears it proud, I am quite disgusted. And I know I am not alone. As a result, I will take the role as her elder, and defend her, even if she isn't quite clear how historically demeaning and racialized it is to be reduced to a furry, disease-infested, buck-toothed critter.

Gabby's story is nothing short of phenomenal. 

She was thought to not have "what it took to be an Olympian" because 'experts' believed she "lacked confidence and focus". Commentators emphasized these 'doubts' with implications that she had fell short on maturity, competition experience and an understanding of what it took to be a victor.

It seemed as if her only skill was to smile like a 20th century Amos N' Andy caricature. But we who have been there knows that Gabby, whether consciously or not, understands the true meaning of "grin and bear it" or to smile, even when they are the meanest.

Juxtaposed against Gabby was her teammate Jordan Wieber, who was touted consistently as America's real "darling". Unlike Douglas, Wieber was framed as effortless and destined to win. But when she failed, the commentators showered reports with endless, acceptable excuses as to why and how she wasn't performing up to par.

I almost spit out my smoothie when a news report said, "the world watched in shock as Wieber shed heart-wrenching tears—she wouldn't be competing in the all-around competition." NOT. I wasn't stunting Jordan Wieber, and I question what world that, that reporter belongs to---perhaps white Suburbia that orbits around asinine.

But the one-sided outrage of the individual finals being Wieber-less went as far as an NBC gymnastic commentator stating later that he thought Olympic officials should reassess the rules of how many people can qualify. I have seen this strategy repeated when certain people lose at a game of which they created the rules---they simply change them when they are no longer the game-changers.

And although Gabby scored highest during the team finals, it was projected that Wieber's leadership and emotionally evolved, selflessness is what actually got the job done for the win.

Even up until the final event leading to Gabby's individual gold, while the world was cheering, the privileged and supremacist eye kept disbelieving. When Gabby won, it was so antithetical for the biased commentators who were edging for any white girl to win by the end, that folks took to twitter and Facebook to celebrate what wasn't being acknowledged on air.

So uncomfortable with Gabby's domination and being the current face that represents the United States as a champion,  those who have absorbed the ideologies of privilege and supremacy threw jabs like the alleged "ill-timed' monkey commercial following the ceremony.

It is as if  Gabby is like Obama in 2008.The results are in, and they will never admit, that they were all dead ass wrong, upstaged by and underdog and still soak in their racism.

The Price for Covering Up Decades-Long Child Sexual Abuse? A Job with the Feds

I must admit, Graham Spanier's latest job in crisis management for the US government is extremely appropriate. I cannot see a better candidate who can cover up a fuck up (literally) for more than 10 years like the ousted president of Penn State.

He said in an email:

“For the next several months, as I transition to my post-presidential plans, I will be working on a special project for the U.S. government relating (to) national security. This builds on my prior positions working with federal agencies to foster improved cooperation between our nation’s national security agencies and other entities.”  

I know people who were fired for being short on a cash register by $25, and couldn't find a job dealing with money, but this guy conspires to hide sexual abuse, and leaves a hero who already has a gig.

Can I say white privelege?

I am scratching my head at how many people I have read about getting life for drug conspiracy and this guy knowingly held information that caused the harm to a number of boys, some we will never know, and he gets carte blanche and high level clearance.

But that shows you the power of institutions, and the length that people will go, even in their ignorance, to protect something that kills them too. We will defend universities and governments the convenient argument that these are individuals, and not representative of the institution.

Welp, journalist Chris Hedges says, "Inherently, all institutions are demonic."

White American Terrorists, A Mystery of Inequity

When it comes to white American terrorists, white consciousness is as psychopathic and un-Patriotic as its latest perpetrator, James Holmes.

Yes, I said his goddamn name. James Holmes, James Holmes, James Holmes, James Holmes, James Holmes.

Remember him, very well, for he is the latest symbol of white domestic terrorists who are provided the courtesy of being understood before being prosecuted.

As in Ted Kaczynski (Unabomber), Timothy McVeigh (Oklahoma bomber), Eric Harris and Dyland Klebold (Columbine shooters), mainstream America tries to make sense of Holmes' actions by insinuating an uncharacteristic, and even temporary mental imbalance while quelling the white, suburban mind by framing this as an "isolated" incident.

Please do not disturb white consciousness, it is in full denial. This does not happen in the pristine, idyllic cul-de-sacs of Aurora, but in Chicago, it is expected. Therefore, there is no need for community grieving and highlighting the resilience and beauty in tragedy, the ghetto is a cesspool of crime. Right?

It is easier to tuck this incident away between candlelight vigils, praises of quick responding emergency professionals and hospital visits from Obama than to seriously unpack the absolute egregious danger of not looking at the absurdity and nihilism of racial profiling (or the lack of profiling a certain race).

By the way, has Obama made a pit stop to Cook County to hold a couple of shooting victims? They fill the hallways of the triage. Okay, I digressed.

And when I say white consciousness, it does not designate a racial group, per se, though disproportionately, white people engage in this thinking. It is a perspective, a way in which one sees the world. And for some, that is from a white privilege that sees the non-white, as the other, thus deviant.


You see, when Arabs, Blacks or Mexicans shoot almost 100 people, we are terrorists, gang bangers, and drug-smuggling warlords. Legislation is passed. Police regulation is modified. Law enforcement gets more liberties to profile and fuck people up. Idiots are given the "right to shoot" perps who are carrying illegal substances like rainbow colored candy and diabetes-prone iced tea.

This idea around who is a real citizen always emerges when the "others" are the antagonists, but when whites do it, hey, they just went bat shit crazy for a quick little minute.

In white consciousness, it is difficult to wrap one's mind around the fact that there are white citizens who hate, and who hate America. Maybe its because we have democracy (lol), or freedom of religion (shitting me) or Google spy tactics, a fair justice system and even drone planes. Maybe its because Snooki got pregnant, Michael Jackson has three white kids, or Kristen Stewart fang banged the director of the recent dud, Snow White & the Huntsman.

But when a Caucasian, especially a white male goes into a crowd and shoots women, children and members of the military, surely these shooters are just troubled. All we need is a rigid regimen of psychotropic drugs, warm milk and a marathon of Clint Eastwood and John Wayne in cotton pajamas with the little six shooters on them.

White consciousness argues that a white man will never blow up America, though many have tried. And if one does, there is a very good reason: third term of a black president.

Psychopathic behavior justifies and distances oneself from brutal, violent acts, just like how mainstream America is gently, and strategically performing. First, by removing the killer, or profiling him as a terrorist. Then, by focusing on the victims and not the terrorist acts.

In 10 years this will be a small dent in public safety. But please remember 9/11. Never again.

Even the Rat Was White: Racist Facts You Should Know About Western Science

During the early 1800s British and American scientists concluded that the Negroid race was inferior to Caucasoid race due to the small measurements of the skull or the crane. This scientific postulation was carried over to a scientific movement called Craneology. Today this science is now called "pseudoscience". Yeah right.

The black blogosphere has been abuzz with the recent online article posted in Psychology Today that revealed "research" stating black women were the least attractive.

I did not have the opportunity to read the article because it has since been pulled from Psychology Today's site due to the flood of online protests and critiques.

Nevertheless, this article should not be shocking because Western science, Psychology included, is founded on racist ideology and worldview that operates from a hierarchy placing Caucasian or white as the superior race, while African/Negroid are the bottom feeders of the totem pole.

I really am not interested in using my brain power to dissect the absurdity of these claims, rather, I will provide some historical facts around the racism that is still pervasive in Western medicine, which is considered modern medicine.

There is a book called, Even the Rat Was White by Robert V. Guthrie, that provides a historical view of the racist foundations of science, and heavily look at Psychology.

Lastly, let me state that black people, starting with enslaved people, have been the disproportionate population that has served as guinea pigs in scientific studies. Even today, prison populations and the military subject people to a slew of scientific study that falls under the umbrella of "bettering the human race."

BTW, ask a person in the military how many vaccinations and pills they take?

Gynecology
J. Marion Sims is called "the Father of Gynecology" due to his experiments on enslaved women in Alabama who were often submitted as guinea pigs by their plantation owners who could not use them for sexual pleasure. He kept seven women as subjects for four years, but left a trail of death and permanently traumatized black women. 

Anarcha was one of the women Sims experimented upon. A detailed history of this monster is in Harriet Washington's book, Medical Apartheid.

Sims believed that Africans were numb to pain and operated on the women without anesthesia or antiseptic. The procedures usually happened this way. Black female slaves who were guinea pigs would hold one subject down as Sims performed hysterectomies, tubal ligation, and other procedures to examine various female disorders.

Sims also performed a host of operations on other slave populations. The following excerpt details his "practice" on enslaved infants.

Sims began to exercise his freedom to experiment on his captives. He took custody of slave infants and, with a shoemaker’s awl, tried to pry the bones of their skulls into proper alignment.

Skin Color
Founding Father and American physician, Dr. Benjamin Rush proposed that black skin or "the black color" was a inherited skin disease from ancestors who suffered from some form of leprosy. To him, this ailment could be cured through proper assimilation. He also agreed with his white contemporaries that the Negroid race were direct descendants of monkeys.

In December of 1815, French anatomist, Henri Marie Ducrotay de Blainville conducted an autopsy on a woman who would be known as the Hottentot Venus in front of a group of salivating scientists, one of which was Georges Cuvier, the father of anatomy. Her genitalia and skinned body was kept on display in a Parisian museum until the mid-1900s, where they were eventually placed in storage.

Saartjie Baartman or Sarah Baartman served as the fascination of England and France due to her physicality, in particular, her buttocks. Cuvier would term this "physical disorder" as steatopygia in the Memoires du Museum d'Histoire Naturelle in 1817.

Steatopygia is described as the is a high degree of fat accumulation in and around the buttocks. The deposit of fat is not confined to the gluteal regions, but extends to the outside and front of the thighs, forming a thick layer reaching sometimes to the knee.

Steatopygia became one of the determining factors of European scientists to validate hypersexuality of African women; thus rationalizing the common sexual crime of rape and forced breeding. Interestingly, how today's article talks of black women being less attractive, yet not too long ago, it was envogue to rape a black woman by white men.

Baartman's story is one of sadness and great misery. Though all the details of her journey to England to be placed on display in circuses around England, and central squares in Paris, and high society parties, are still sketchy, it doesn't take a smart person to know that her death, just several years after her embarkation on Europe's shores was due to a life of hardship and gross exploitation.

Drapetomania
American physician, Samuel A. Cartwright termed this "mental disorder" for slaves who wanted to escape slavery. It was a sickness of the mind that caused enslaves blacks to run away. Symptoms of drapetomania included sullenness (depression) His work was published in the following publication.

The Eugenics Movement
This 19th Century scientific campaign based on superior and inferior genes was spawned in Europe. Heavily influence by Charles Darwin's theories on evolution, eugenicists purported that certain genes and social characteristics produced superior humans, while others created sub-par, almost animal-like creatures.

The standard (or superior being) was based on Aryan features/Nordic, thus those who "deviated" dramatically from pale skin, blue eyes, and blond or light-brown hair were categorized as low grades.

German scientist measures the physical dimensions of a Jewish Nazi camp prisoner during WWII.

Eugenics became the scientific foundation in Nazism, and its validation for extermination. Jews were subjected to various genetic tests and experiments by Nazi scientists who were attempting to understand DNA and genes.

In the United States, eugenicists pushed public policy on reproductive and citizenship rights, and marriage licensing. In fact, the concept of the perfect race was heavily developed in California before the rise of Hitler.

In the 1800s and early 1900s, whites who had moved to California were involved in massive massacres, and experimentation of the indigenous people. The project was to see how a "perfect human" could be bred out of "undesireables."

Fannie Lou Hamer

In the US, though, Connecticut was the first state to implement eugenics laws. Those who were deemed "unfit" to breed were sterilized, and could not marry each other, and certainly not one who belonged to a more superior race. Mentally and physically challenged people, poor people, and people of color and Eastern European immigrants were placed in the category of being "unfit". Women were subjected to non-consensual hysterectomies, and these populations were often used as scientific guinea pigs.

In Mississippi, there is a term for women who were given hysterectomies without consent. It is called a "Mississippi Appendectomy" because women were told they were getting the appendixes removed or a minor reproductive procedure, and ended up without a womb.

60,000 Americans were sterilized in the eugenics movement, the most famous African American is Civil Rights activist, Fannie Lou Hamer who never had children because she went to the doctor for a small "woman's" procedure and woke up with a partial hysterectomy.

Today, eugenics movement is seen in various initiatives, such as the 90s push of getting women addicted to crack to stop reproducing, and the recent, Republican Representative John LaBruzzo who would like the State of Louisiana to pay poor women $1000 to get their tubes tied.

From Savior to Anti-Christ: Setting Up Obama's Political Crucifixion

This week was the final straw, I gotta talk about the prediction I made before Obama got into office. My father and I have these wonderful political talks. In one of our conversations when we were talking about America and Obama, I said that Obama is being portrayed as a Savior now, but will be crucified as the anti-Christ down the road.

And with this past weeks rising rejection of some school districts and some (ig'nant ass) parents in allowing their children to hear a speech from the President of the United States directed towards the youth is an ante up towards a metaphorical lynch mob.

Here is a man with two daughters and is the damn President, and the message that is insinuiated is that Obama is some kind of sex offender or big bad bully that will brainwash or force children to do things they should not.

The surveillance of black males is astonishing, even when they are in the "highest" political position of the most powerful nation. This goes to show you that there is something more powerful moving and shaping things as they please...or at least they try.

Albeit, this group of people who swear they will yank their children out of school before they allow the President to address their children are not the majority voicing their opinion; however, as the "objective" media depicts them, these groups are portrayed as an unstoppable tidal wave that is growing stronger by the minute. And it all began with a tear drop from Glenn Beck.

Wow, where was this type of media during all the protests and 911 commissions. Oh, they were there, they just were holding the footage in an attempt to attack forward thinking White House staff like Van Jones, who told America what black people already thought of George W, he has "crack-head" and thuggish behavior.

How does the president become the Boogeyman in 7 months? Or better yet, Candyman. Do you remember that movie? It was about an urban monster that was really a wandering black male spirit who was tortured and killed for consorting with a white woman during slavery. His affection and expression of love during dangerous social and political times was twisted into a monstrosity that even hood kids were scared off.

Though I disagree with some points about Healthcare (I'll discuss later), the ways in which these people are acting reeks the stank of institutionalized and blatant racial issues. Metaphorical KKK robes and Swastikas are sadly materializing in front of our eyes.

Real issues with the country's operations are being overlooked, since people have re-imagined and re-created race wars.

People are starving. People are homeless. People are unemployed. Children are sick and sad. People are desparate. And this type of poverty has been going on for years in some areas! But nooooo, all people want to do is spew sublimally hateful messages based on race and religion.

Then there are those who are throwing fuel onto the fire of racial tensions that have not allayed since Obama's win. People are consciously and sub-consciously operating with the notion that people of African descent are inferior and a black person in a leadership position is inferior thus causing the country to collapse when the bitch has been collapsing since the Declaration of Independence excluded freedom for all.

But all you gotta get is some folk who think they have privelege. Get them to do the dirty work of the few who are master manipulators and puppeteers that are laughing as they see all working class, lower class and so-called middle class, fighting for crumbs and keeping the machine of crazy world cranking.

After they warn the public to keep their children from Obama, what's next? God-fearing, pure White Women? If his mama was alive, I know she would bitch-slap some of her folk. But thank God we have Michelle. She bench presses every morning with at least 20 fuck-you's for'em all.
