I don't think any person born and reared in the US, and is living today, could not defend Chris Rock's bitterly truthful twitter statement better than Tim Giago, a Native American who points out the racial hypocrisy and historical ignorance that has been pervasive since Mayflower docked this bitch.
Someone, somewhere said something like, "Other people can remember their atrocities, but African-Americans are forced to 'leave it in the past."
So when Rock pointed out that July 4th did not mean independence for all, even when slaves and free blacks fought, spied, cooked for soldiers, and cared for soldiers in the American Revolutionary War, I just poured out a little beer for those who aren't here to agree with him, and clear up the inaccuracies that have become standard facts in most school texts.
And they wonder why the average American kid is dumb.
Watch out America, dark-skinned black man with knotty hair is articulating his position! And truth be told, a lot of jokes Rock says to me are obnoxious and humorless, but on this note, we are two peas in a pod.
Rock was not ranting. Actually, he we was not even funny. Rock was stating the obvious that has been habitually denied like a psychotic disorder. In college, one of my psyche professors encouraged her class to read the Psychopathic Racial Personality Disorder by Dr. Bobby E. Wright.
It is a quick, but power packed read that parallels white America's collective thinking and behaviors to psychopathic behavior.
Wright defines psychopath as, "an individual who is constantly in conflict with other persons or groups. [She or] he is unable to experience guilt . . . is in conflict with other persons or groups . . . is unable to experience guilt . . . is completely selfish and callous, and has a total disregard for the rights of others."
So I know there are a handful of Negroes who are up in arms with Rock who they probably are saying was "completely inappropriate" and unpatriotic. But, fuck'em, they can board the hundreds of ships that the British sent to the Americas filled with UK's finest criminals and be guinea pigs for the new tech prisons.
I think I will thank my Blackfoot, Choctaw, Cherokee, Seminole, and a third of my Apache-Iroquois-Sioux blood as I enjoy Giago's thinking:
Comedian Chris Rock sent out a tweet that went, "Happy white peoples independence day the slaves weren't free but I'm sure they enjoyed the fireworks."
Was he not telling the truth? Of course he was, but some people took it as offensive and unpatriotic. Those are the same people who bury their heads in the sand whenever anyone speaks about the not so happy history of America.
Native Sun News, a weekly newspaper based in Rapid City, S. D., recently ran a cartoon that showed an Indian and an African American standing side-by-side with the caption, "Which country was built on genocide and slavery?" There have probably been several, but the first country that came to the minds of most Native Americans was America.
